Russie Marie Pittman passed away from Alzheimer's December 8, 2013 in at her home surrounded by family.Funeral: 10:00 a.m. Saturday at West Parkway Baptist Church, 836 Northwest Pkwy., Azle. Interment: Ash Creek Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at White's Funeral Home, 105 Denver Trail, Azle.Russie Marie Mathews Pittman was born Nov. 30, 1930, in Brown County, daughter of the late Emmitt and Addie Watson Mathews. Her father died when Russie was very young and her mother, Addie, married Roy Davis who became Russie's dad. She graduated from Bangs High School and was a member of West Parkway Baptist Church.Russie was preceded in death by her father, Emmitt Mathews; parents, Roy and Addie Davis; brother, A.L. Mathews; and sisters-in-law, Earlene Mathews and Ethel Mathews; and son-in-law, Randy Parten.Survivors: Loving husband of 65 years, Burdell Pittman of Azle; children, Patricia Kay Stone of Lake Worth, Kenneth Pittman and wife, Diane, of Englewood, Colo., Melvin Pittman and wife, Barbara, of Arlington, Vicki Parten of Azle, and Linda Richey of Denton; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers, Burten Mathews and Ronnie Mathews and wife, Yvonne; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of loving friends.
