Ronnel Wayne Leathers

POOLVILLE -- Ronnel Wayne "Ron" Leathers, 69, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012, in Mineral Wells. Memorial service: Saturday at Ron's home in Poolville. Memorials: In lieu of usual remembrances, the Leathers family suggests contributions in Ron's memory to Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Road, Suite 300, Jacksonville Fla., 32256. Ronnel Wayne Leathers was born July 10, 1943, in Paris, son of the late Buford Wayne and Hazel Louise Walker Leathers. He served with dedication as an aircraft mechanic in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged after four years of service. Ron married the former Linda Alice McKim in Paris on Dec. 20, 1964, and they began their life together. More than anything else, Ron loved working as a silversmith and made it his career for more than 40 years. Ron graduated with the class of 1962 from Paris High School and was a member of North Side Baptist Church in Weatherford. Ron was preceded in death by a son, Chris Leathers; his parents; sister, Margaret Wilson; and brother, Mitchell Leathers. Survivors: Wife, Linda Leathers of Poolville; children, Suzett Oppenheimer and husband, Jon, of Weatherford, and Tracy Leathers and wife, Dotty, of Poolville; grandchildren, Justin and wife, Jessica, Kristen, Shelby, and Courtney; great-grandchildren, Brooklynn and Kameron; and a host of loving friends.White's Funeral HomeWeatherford, 817-596-4811
