WEATHERFORD -- Travis Johnson, 81, passed away Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012, surrounded by family in Weatherford. Funeral: 1 p.m. Monday in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church of Weatherford, at the corner of Palo Pinto and Alamo streets, Weatherford. Interment: Memory Gardens of the Valley Memorial Park, Weatherford. Visitation: 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at White's Funeral Home, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford. Memorials: In lieu of usual remembrances, the Johnson family suggests contributions in Travis' memory to Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, D.C. 20090-6011. Travis Joe Johnson Sr. was born April 3, 1931, in Leola, Ark., the first of two children to the late George and Edith Kiesler Johnson. He married the late Faye Watson Johnson in Arkansas on Dec. 26, 1951, and they began their life together. As a world-renowned hair stylist, Travis made his career as the corporate style director of Neiman Marcus for more than 30 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Weatherford since 1987 and a charter member of Western Hills Baptist Church in Fort Worth. Travis served his country with dedication and distinction during the Korean War and received an honorable discharge. Travis was preceded in death by his wife, Faye Johnson, on Feb. 4, 2012; son, Travis "Joey" Johnson Jr., in 1978; his parents; and brother, Gene Ellis. Survivors: Son, Ray Johnson; daughter, Angela Meredith and husband, Ron; grandchildren, Crysten Rowan, Samantha Renee and Jonathan Alan; and a host of loving friends.White's Funeral HomeWeatherford, 817-596-4811
