James Mercer Bulger

James Mercer Bulger (Jim), 82, of Lakeland, Florida passed away peacefully at his daughter's home in Springtown, Texas on September 1, 2012 due to kidney failure. Memorial service: 3:00 p.m. Friday, September 7, 2012 at White's Funeral Home Chapel in Springtown. James was born on June 17, 1930 in Lakeland, Florida. Jim was the son of the late Albert and Annie Bulger of Lakeland, Florida. He was a Baptist and a member of Gene Wells Seeker II Sunday School Class at the "Church at the Mall" in Lakeland. He married Mary Elizabeth Cooper (Libby) June 12, 1952 in Lakeland, Florida. Jim was in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. After serving three years he worked for Rust Engineering, Frank Murphy Construction and traveled the world for Dorr-Oliver Engineering. He retired from Dorr-Oliver after 33 years. Jim was preceded in death by both parents, five sisters, two brothers, and most recently his beloved and wonderful son, Mike Bulger, also from Lakeland, FL. Survivors: wife of 60 years, Libby Bulger; son, Pat Bulger and wife, Carole of Lakeland, FL; daughter, Sandi Dickenson and husband, Ronny of Springtown, TX; daughter-in-law, Melody Bulger of Lakeland, FL; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren.
