HUDSON OAKS -- Joe L. Bayer Jr., 80, passed away Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012, in Fort Worth. His devoted wife, Darlene, was at his side. Funeral: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Stephen's Catholic Church, 1802 Bethel Road, Weatherford. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at White's Funeral Home, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford, where the rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joe's memory to St. Stephen's Catholic Church, American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association. Joe was born Oct. 31, 1931, in Bellmead to Joe Lawrence Bayer Sr. and Adella Marak Bayer. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus and served as grand knight of Holy Spirit Council 7264 at St. Stephen's. Joe also served as faithful navigator of General Worth Assembly in Fort Worth. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, James Bayer of Waco; and several special aunts and uncles. Survivors: Loving wife of 20 years, Darlene Bayer of Hudson Oaks; daughters, Stephanie Sims and husband, Jerry, of Lubbock and Leslie Nunn and husband, Billy, of Hiram, Ga.; four grandchildren; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; aunt, Bertha Faicthinger; several cousins; and many loving family members and devoted friends.White's Funeral HomeWeatherford, 817-596-4811
