WEATHERFORD -- Willie Ray Taylor, 76, a loving husband, father, grandfather and family man, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2012, surrounded by family at his home in the Horseshoe Bend community. Funeral: 2 p.m. Saturday in White's Chapel of Memories, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford. Interment: Tin Top Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Willie Ray Taylor was born Sept. 22, 1935, in Glen Rose, one of six children of the late John Henry and Vera Aline Ramsey Taylor. He served with distinction in the United States Navy and received his discharge after four years of honorable service. Ray made his career with Santa Fe Railway and retired after 42 dedicated years. He married Sandy in February 1981 and they enjoyed many great years together and traveled much of the world. An RV adventurist, Ray considered himself a world traveler and even sailed a boat with his brother, Don, from Florida to Texas. He was also an accomplished musician and played the guitar and harmonica. Ray was a member of Horseshoe Bend Baptist Church. The Taylor family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to Delores and Bonnie for their graciousness. Ray was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Lee Taylor; his parents; a sister, Juanita Early; and a brother, Don Taylor. Survivors: Children, Robert Anderson of Joshua, Kelly Hantz of Weatherford, and Darren Taylor and wife, Angie, of Willow Park; grandchildren, Brittany, Morgen, Kelsey, J.R., Luke and Dylan; great-grandchildren, Grace, Abagail and Jordan; brothers, Vernon Taylor and Jerry Taylor; sister, Teresea Adcock; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and a host of loving family and friends.White's Funeral HomeWeatherford, 817-596-4811
