SPRINGTOWN -- Johnny Ray Smith, 78, passed from this life into the arms of Jesus, Friday, June 15, 2012, surrounded by family at his home in Springtown.
Celebration of life: 10 a.m. Tuesday at Hilltop Family Church, 1227 Cottondale Road, Springtown.
Interment: Springtown Cemetery.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the Smith family suggests contributions in Johnny's memory to the Hilltop Family Church Building Fund.
Johnny Ray Smith was born March 10, 1934, in Hickory Plains, Ark., son of the late John B. and Ollie M. Smith. He loved to be on the water and especially loved drag boats. Johnny was also a NASCAR fanatic. He knew all the drivers and the numbers to their cars. Johnny's wit made all who came in contact with him love him even more. Everyone liked to be around Johnny. He was a member of Hilltop Family Church.
Johnny was preceded in death by his daughter, Tami Rico; his parents; and two brothers, Willard and Kirby Smith.
Survivors: Wife of 48 years, Jeanni Smith of Springtown; sons, Johnny "Peanut" Smith II of Springtown, Johnnie L. Conway and wife, Cindy, of Springtown, Terry W. Conway of Wichita, Kan., and Jackie R. Conway of Springtown; ten grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; brother, Freddie G. Smith and wife, Lois, of Biscoe, Ark.; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of loving family and friends.
