Carl David Duhon passed away with family in attendance on Thursday, May 24, 2012 at Baylor All Saints Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas. He was born July 1, 1948 to Carl E. Duhon and Betty Lou Duhon in Port Arthur, Texas. He grew up in Orangefield, Texas and graduated from Orangefield High School where he was active in various sports and athletics.David attended the University of Dallas where he earned a B.A. in Political Philosophy in 1970 and a Masters of Science in International Trade in 1976. While earning his undergraduate degree, he met and married his college classmate, Linda Mae Dueser, and they were married for 43 years. Following graduation, they moved to Athens, Navasota, and McAllen, Texas before returning to Irving and settling there.For a portion of his adult life, David ran a successful small business before pursuing a career in education. He taught in Irving Independent School District from 1994 until he retired in 2011. He taught special education at all levels and was passionate and gifted at making a positive difference in the lives of all his students.David was very active in pursuing higher education and earned a Masters of Education from Lamar University in 2009. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time at the family farm in Cross Plains, Texas. His relationship with Christ was the most important thing in his life. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl E. Duhon and Betty Lou Duhon. He is survived by his wife, Linda Duhon of Weatherford, daughter Sarah Duhon of Fort Worth, and son David J. Duhon of Stephenville.Funeral services will be held at White's Funeral Chapel in Weatherford, Texas on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at 10:00 in the morning. Private interment to follow.The Duhon family would like to thank the doctors and nurses on the transplant floor at Baylor All Saints Hospital in Fort Worth, Dr. Joseph Millburn in Irving, and Dr. Merrick Reese at Texas Oncology in Dallas for all their dedicated care over the past several years and months.In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Dr. Goodalls' House, Post Office Box 272, Breckenridge, Texas 76424; North Texas Food Bank, 4500 South Cockrell Hill Rd., Dallas, Texas 75236 ; or to the donor's favorite charity.White's Funeral Home - Weatherford817-596-4811
