Steven Michael Dauenhauer

Steven Michael Dauenhauer, 46, passed away Sunday, May 20, 2012, in Springtown.Funeral: 10 a.m. Friday, June 1, at Springtown High School Stadium. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church in Springtown.Steven was born April 1, 1966, in Vallejo, Calif., and moved to Springtown in 1968. Steven grew up in Springtown, where after graduation, he began his career in construction contracting. With a work ethic that would and does continue to inspire those around him, Steven built a very successful contracting and construction company. His work is not only evident in and around Springtown but across Texas as well as neighboring states. As much as he was a successful businessman, his true success was in who he was as a person. Steven left behind a legacy of kindness, honor, integrity and love. He let his love of the Lord and his Christian faith guide his life. He gave back to his community through his work at his church, local schools and civic organizations. As a volunteer coach and youth leader at his church, he was a role model and mentor. His impact was especially felt by the community's youth since he was always willing to go above and beyond if he thought it would benefit the kids. This role model and mentor influence also had a deep effect on the adults around him. He was a leader of men and inspired those around him to do their best. To his friends, he was an all-out kind of guy. If you planned on helping Steven work, you had better be prepared to work. If you were planning on having fun with Steven, you had better be prepared to have fun. He was always up for a challenge and adventure. Everything Steven did was first class, done to the best of his ability and with the attitude "whatever it takes." He lived his life to the fullest with a smile on his face and a baseball cap on his head. You never knew what the next project was that Steven had in mind, but you could always rest assured he had something else already planned. Steven was an avid outdoorsman with a passion for hunting and fishing. Being outdoors and spending time with his three boys, brothers and friends was without a doubt his favorite pastime. Instilling a love for the outdoors in his sons brought him true pleasure and he treasured every sunrise spent with them as a blessing. Being true to his character, Steven took more pride and felt more satisfaction watching others be successful in their outdoor pursuits as much as the ones he had accomplished himself. Everything Steven set out to do was an accomplishment and something to be proud of. However, there was nothing more important to Steven than his family. His beautiful wife Debbie was the love of his life and his best friend. He often spoke of his love for her and described her as the best woman, wife, mother and friend a man could have, and how she was the peace and balance in his life. Together they raised three outstanding sons who all show the same characteristics as their father. He proudly watched as his sons grew into fine young men and took immense satisfaction in knowing their faith, work ethic and integrity would take them far in life. His love for his family knew no bounds.
