Robert E. "Bobby" Fowler, 71, retired Fire Chief and Fire Marshal, passed away Thursday, March 15, 2012 in Fort Worth, surrounded by his beloved family.Service: 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 17, 2012 at Azle Church of Christ, 336 Northwest Parkway, AzleInterment: Ashcreek CemeteryVisitation: 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, March 16, 2012 at White's Funeral Home, 105 Denver Trail, Azle.Memorials: In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Bobby's memory to Azle Fire Department, 613 S. E. Parkway, Azle, TX 76020.Bobby was born January 13, 1941 in Decatur to Roy and Charline Fowler. He married the love of his life, Martha, and they raised two wonderful sons together. Bobby had been the Fire Chief and Fire Marshal in Azle, serving 20 plus years and was one of Azle's first paid firefighters. He was the first firefighter to retire from the Department. Bobby loved working with his hands, making things with wood, which he shared with his family and friends. He had been a dairyman for several years before becoming a firefighter. Bobby loved spending time with his family and friends.He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Wilma Lou Cook; and his grandparents.Survivors include: Wife of 50 years, Martha Fowler, of Azle; sons, David Fowler and wife, Jill, of Fort Worth, Gary Fowler of Azle; grandchildren, Johnny Fowler of Azle, Robert Adams of Denton, Allison Adams Freeman and husband, Tom, of Southaven, Mississippi; brother, Tommy Fowler and wife, Kathy, of Azle; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends and fellow firefighters.
