Nancy Faye Newby-Brown, 74, passed away Tuesday March 6, 2012.Funeral: 10 a.m. Saturday at White's Funeral Home, 401 N. Main St., Springtown.Interment: Aledo Brown Cemetery, in Aledo.Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.Nancy Faye was born on Dec 3, 1937 in Azle, TX. She graduated from Texas Women's University and later obtained a Masters in Education from the University of North Texas. She was married to Charles H. Brown on January 27, 1990, and they spent the next 22 wonderful and happy years together on their farm. She taught elementary school in Springtown, Boyd, and Decatur for over 32 years, and she was beloved by her many students. Nancy was an active member of the Delta-Kappa-Gamma Honors Society and was recognized numerous times by Who's Who Among American Teachers. She was also an active member of the Parker County Master Gardener's Club and The Hills Church of Christ in Richland Hills. Nancy loved flowers, plants, and gardening, and often volunteered her time in helping to beautify the community. She worked on beautification projects for Springtown's City Hall, Chamber of Commerce, and the Springtown Museum. She was well known for her love of Christmas spirit, and her home was often a showcase during the holiday season. She was known for her generosity, scholarship, philosophy, and Christian love and charity for those in need. She was preceded in death by her parents, R. Robert and Ruth Wright, and her brother, Robert Wright, Jr. Survivors include her loving husband, Charles H. Brown of Springtown; children Mark Newby of Ft Worth, Stan Newby of Carrollton, Shawn Newby of Springtown, and Craig Newby and wife Dawn of North Palm Beach, FL; stepchildren Charles T. Brown, Tonja Lynn Murphy, LaTricia Denese Ebey, and Christopher M. Brown; grandchildren Luke Newby, Lauren Jade Smith, Beck Newby, and Alexander Quinn Newby; step-grandchildren Michael Murphy III, Brett Murphy, Dustin Ebey, and Katia Ebey; her Aunt, Oleta Patrick; and approximately 25 cousins; and many friends and acquaintances.
