Warren Stockton, 82, passed away Sunday, March 4, 2012, surrounded by his family.Funeral: 2 p.m. Friday at Couts United Methodist Church. Elm St., Weatherford, 76086.Warren was born in Dublin on March 27, 1929, to William B. Sr. and Mable Stockton. He was a graduate of Dublin High School, where he was chosen on the All-Century football team. Warren was a decorated Korean War veteran. He graduated from Texas Tech University with a degree in industrial engineering. Warren worked for many years with Burlington Textile Industries and Southwestern Petroleum Corp. He also owned several entrepreneurial businesses: a 7-11 franchise, laundromat/dry cleaners, Autrey's Marine and partnered with his son, Mark, in 7th Street Hamburger Co. in Fort Worth and Lone Star Grill in Weatherford.Warren was a longtime member of Couts United Methodist Church in Weatherford. He was a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association and built a Starduster II airplane. Warren was a 32nd-degree Mason, a life member of the Bowie Lodge, the Weatherford Lodge and a member of Scottish Rite. Everyone he met, he dealt with on the square. Warren also belonged to the Master Gardeners. Warren married the love of his life, Nora Jean Rhyne of Bowie, on April 3, 1949. The marriage lasted 54 years until her death in 2003. Survivors: Son, Mark Stockton and wife, Donna; daughter, Sandy Caffee and husband, Jeff; grandchildren, Sara and Zack Stockton and Trent and Bailey Caffee; great-granddaughter, Peyton Caffee; twin brother, Wilber Stockton and wife, Joy; sister-in-law, Charlotte Stockton; many nieces and nephews; and church family from Couts United Methodist Church.
