Major (Ret) Joseph A. Beauregard, 90, passed away Monday, February 20, 2012 at home in Mineral Wells with his family by his side. Graveside Service: 2:00 p.m., Thursday at Sturdivant Cemetery in Mineral Wells. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at White's Mineral Wells Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for a donation in his name to a Veteran's organization of your choice, as he supported them all. Joseph Beauregard was born February 8, 1922 in Haverhill, MA to Arthur and Agnes Beauregard. He was one of the chosen generation having proudly served his country during World War II in the South Pacific (Guadalcanal) as well as Europe (Siegfried Line), where he received a battle field commission and numerous awards for valor. Enlisting at the age of 17, Joseph went on to create a career and history that did and would make any family extremely proud. He retired from the US Army June 1, 1966, however remained active in many of the veteran's organizations helping his fellow soldiers. Joseph was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters; four brothers; and sons, John and Stephen Beauregard both of Mineral Wells. He will always be remembered for his unmatched sense of humor, his love for his country, and his love for his family. Joseph will be greatly missed by all who knew him well. Survivors include his loving wife of 68 years, Mary E. Beauregard of Mineral Wells; sons, Tom Beauregard of Fort Worth, Mike Beauregard and wife, Sunny of Weatherford; daughters, Jo Franks and husband, Don of Enterprise, AL, Jacque Van Dyke and husband, Donn of Sacramento, CA, Pattie Peabody and husband, Danny of Mineral Wells, Angela Lee and husband, Darrin of Mineral Wells; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and sister, Rena Hunt of Orlando, FL.
