MINERAL WELLS -- Meree Ator, 93, of Mineral Wells, was born Dec. 11, 1918, in Poolville, daughter of the late Ira Ilo Burrows and Molly Coleman Burrows. She passed away in her sleep at home on Saturday, Feb. 4, 2012. Funeral: 2 p.m. Saturday at Southside Church of Christ, 2600 South Oak Ave., Mineral Wells. William Eudy will officiate. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Interment: Woodland Park Cemetery. Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at White's Funeral Home, 101 N.E. 4th Ave., Mineral Wells. Meree, 16, married Herbert, 19, in 1935, in Lipan. She is best remembered for her big heart, hospitality, cooking, and sewing skills. She taught Bible classes for little children many years at Perrin and North Oak Churches of Christ. She showed love by taking care of little children, the needy, the elderly and the sick. Family births and gatherings were her delight and ungodliness distressed her. Although wheelchair bound for the past several years, she continued to be interested in helping others. God's true servant, she left a legacy of love, caring, and generosity. She will be greatly missed. Meree was preceded in death by her husband of almost 72 years, Herbert Quick Ator; a son, Michael Ator; and her brother, Ben Burrows. She is survived by five daughters, Evanell Davis (Bill Marlow) of Modesto, Calif., Suzanne Parten of Allen, Marilyn Runnels and Maureen Pritchard of Mineral Wells, and Cynthia Voegtlin (David) of Walnut Springs; one son, Patrick Ator (Janace) of Beaverton, Ore.; a sister, Eva Burrows McIver of North Richland Hills; 24 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
