Faye Johnson, 80, loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away Saturday, Feb. 4, 2012, in Weatherford. Service: 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church of Weatherford, 221 Church St., Weatherford. Interment: Memory Gardens of the Valley. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at White's Funeral Home. Faye was born to the late Milard Constantine and Beulah Barlow Watson July 27, 1931, in Louisiana. She was the fourth of nine children. Faye attended school in Louisiana and married Travis Johnson Dec. 26, 1951, in Arkansas while Travis was on leave from military service. Faye was a very gifted, award-winning, commissioned artist and was named Artist of the Year. She had studied with Bror Utter. She was a member of the Junior Women's League of Fort Worth, and was an avid gardener. They moved to Weatherford in the mid-1980s. She was a lifetime member of the First Baptist Church in Weatherford and charter member of Western Hills Baptist Church. Faye was preceded in death by her son, Travis Jr., in 1978; parents; three brothers; and three sisters. Survivors: Husband, Travis Johnson of Weatherford; son, Ray Johnson of Fort Worth; daughter, Angela Meredith and husband, Ron; grandchildren, Crysten Rowan, Samantha Renee and Jonathan Alan; sisters, Betty Thomas and Mary Ann Sullivan; numerous nieces and nephews.
