WEATHERFORD -- Dovie Stephens, 86, passed away Thursday, Jan. 19, 2012, in Weatherford. Graveside service: 2 p.m. Monday in Tin Top Cemetery. Visitation: 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at White's Funeral Home, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford. Memorials: In lieu of usual remembrances, the Stephens family suggests contributions in Dovie's memory to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Floor 17, Chicago, Ill. 60601. Dovie Lou Williams Stephens was born Jan. 31, 1925, in Lubbock, the sixth of 10 children of the late Ernest Guy and Ollie Leonard Williams. She studied business at Brantley-Draughon Business College in the late 1940s. She married the late G.R. Stephens on June 22, 1950, when they began their life together. Dovie enjoyed being on the water, whether she was boating or fishing, and also loved to play bridge. When she and G.R. were able, they loved to travel in their RV. Dovie was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, G.R. Stephens, in 2006; son, Guy Roy Stephens, in 1984; her parents; and eight brothers and sisters. Survivors: Son, Stan Stephens and wife, Raelynn, of Walnut Springs; daughter, Janie Stephens Keith of Weatherford; grandson, Jerry Dean Garner and wife, Dawn; great-grandson, J.
