Verna "June" Wetwiska, 78, passed away Friday, Dec. 30, 2011, with her family by her side. Service: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Stephen Catholic Church, 1802 Bethel Road, Weatherford. Interment: Private in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at White's Funeral Home, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford, where a rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. "June," a two-time breast cancer survivor, was born June 8, 1933, in Gracemont, Okla., daughter of the late Thomas and Nora Jones Rackley. June had a love of nature from wildflowers, feeding her hummingbirds and her backyard menagerie of wild birds. She enjoyed traveling with her husband across America in their motor home and was an avid baseball fan, traveling to Surprise, Ariz., each year to attend spring training. She loved to read but, most of all, she loved being a devoted wife, mother and "Grama." She was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church in Weatherford. June loved God and trusted in Him completely. June was preceded in death by her parents and 10 older brothers and sisters. Survivors: Her beloved husband, Linn Wetwiska; daughter, Lynora "Nori" Sullivan and husband, James; twin granddaughters, Rebecca and Samantha Sullivan; stepdaughter, Tommie Lynn Steddum and husband, Ben; and a host of loving friends.
