Larry Vernon Mangrem, 65, of Weatherford, passed away Sunday, December 4, 2011. Larry, son of the late Clarence Vernon and Rosemary Mangrem, was born November 27, 1946 in Wichita Falls. He graduated from Arlington High School in 1964 and was a Demolay member. Entering the Army in June 1968, he served as a platoon leader during basic training and medic in Vietnam. Larry married his wife, Jody, in August 1968. A graduate of North Texas State University in 1973, Larry's banking career began at Benbrook State Bank as a part-time teller and he was hired at Weatherford National Bank in 1984, where he served as Sr. Vice President and Head Cashier. He received a Post graduate degree from the University of Wisconsin Banking School. A longtime fan of Texas Longhorn football, Larry was also a Weatherford Noon Lions Club member for 27 years, serving as treasurer and secretary. Survivors include wife, Jody; son, Mark Mangrem and his wife Sarah of Arlington; daughter, Kristyn McWilliams and her husband, Clint of Arlington; sister, Karen Cook of Arlington; grandchildren, Major, Cade, Addison, Kylie, and Kori.
