Robert Porter Wollaston, 72, passed away Sunday, Oct. 30, 2011, in Aledo. Memorial service: 1 p.m. Wednesday in White's Chapel of Memories, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford. Inurnment: at a later date in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parker County Women's and Newcomer's Club Scholarship Fund, Box 362, Weatherford, Texas 76086. Bob came to Texas from Kellogg, Idaho, while serving honorably in the U.S. Army and decided to stay after meeting his loving wife, Rhoda. He worked in communications and the crimes against children for the Fort Worth Police Department for 44 years before retiring in 2007. Bob also worked for the Fort Worth ISD as an announcer at multiple sporting events. His favorite location to work at was Farrington Field. Bob served as a longtime Aledo City Council member. He loved helping others and spending time with his family. Bob took many wonderful vacations over the years with them. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father and grandpa and will be dearly missed. Bob was preceded in death by his father, John Wollaston; mother, Marcella Riep; stepfather, Paul Riep; and sister, Loretta Cannon. Survivors: His wife of 47 years, Rhoda Wollaston; daughter, Dana Ward and her husband, Jeff; grandson, Austin Ward; granddaughter, Ellie Ward; brother, John Wollaston of Couer d'Alene, Idaho; numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
