TONY T. CAUDILLTony T. Caudill, a devoted husband, proud father, loving grandfather and long time resident of Springtown, died October 12 in Azle. He was 75 years old. Tony was born July 15, 1936 in Big Stone Gap, Virginia to the late Frank E. and Madeline Slemp Caudill. He was baptized in the Baptist faith, but at times attended the Methodist Church. He was and avid reader, bird watcher and a great dog lover.Tony served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corps from 1953-1957, stationed at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina and Washington, D. C., where he was a member of the 4-man Color Guard Team. He was a 39-year Mason, past Master of Eureka Lodge #371 and a member of Springtown Eastern Star #498. Tony retired from the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers as a journeyman electrician, keeping his membership for 53 years. Tony worked all around the United States and overseas.Besides his parents, Tony was preceded in death by infant twin brothers, John and Donald, and two sisters, Fay Hall and Janice Brooks, the sisters of Lynchburg, Virginia.Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Nancy Hall Caudill; daughter Lynne Stoker and husband Pat of Weatherford; sons Troy Caudill and wife Mariea of Burleson, and Keith Caudill of Springtown; grandchildren Matthew Stoker and wife Megan of Dallas, and Jacob and Jacquelyn Caudill of Burleson; brother Ray Caudill and wife Ann of Auburndale, FL; sisters June Neighbors of Madison Heights, VA and Sue Davis of Lynchburg, VA; uncle Alfred Caudill of Lynchburg, VA; and many in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins. By personal choice, he was cremated.A memorial service will be held at Whites Funeral Home in Springtown on Thursday, Oct 20 at 4 pm. Visitation with family will be immediately following. Interment will be in Virginia. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Toys for Tots Organization, www.toysfortots.org or Disabled American Veterans Organization, www.DAV.org or a charity of your choice.
