James Arthur Carter, 84, passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2011 in Fort Worth. Service: 1:00 P.M. Friday at White's Azle Chapel. Interment: Ash Creek Cemetery, Azle. Visitation: 12:00 to 12:30 P.M.Jimmie was born November 3, 1926 in Azle the youngest child of Atlas and Beatrice Gipson Carter. He made his profession of faith as a young boy at Ash Creek Baptist Church in Azle. Jimmie graduated from Azle High School and honorably served his country in the Merchant Marines during World War II, traveling to many places. He enjoyed living at his lake front property on Lake Worth. Jimmie loved Fort Worth and knew it like the back of his hand. He enjoyed keeping up with the stock market, the Dallas Cowboys, golf and the TCU Horned Frogs. He had a quick-wit and sense of humor and it was a pleasure to be in his company. Jimmie was preceded in death by his wife, Jackie in 2005; his parents; and brothers, W. A. and Allen Carter. Survivors: sisters-in-law, Barbara Lehew and husband, James of Terrell and Susie Townsend of Plano; brothers-in-law, Jack Lowrie of Smithville, Okla., Robert Lowrie and wife, Sue of Royse City, and Anson Lowrie of Cumby; nieces, Diann Carter Stewart of Azle and Jenne Carter Briedwell of McKinney; many other nieces, nephews, special friends and neighbors, Gay, Dena and Lois who have been so wonderful and caring for Jimmie.
