William B. Burten, 81, went to be with his Lord and Savior Friday, Sept. 16, 2011, surrounded by family at his home in Springtown. Funeral: 10 a.m. Wednesday in White's Funeral Chapel, 401 North Main St., Springtown. Interment: Annis Chapel Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial: In lieu of flowers the family suggest tributes in his name to the Neighbor to Neighbors group at 413 S. Main St., Springtown, TX 76082. William Boyd Burten was born Aug. 22, 1930, in Fort Worth. He loved to be outdoors but really loved fishing and keeping his lawn manicured. Bill also liked to travel with Audrey, whom he married on April 30, 1982 in Fort Worth. However, his favorite past time was tinkering in his garage. He made his career as an optician and retired after many dedicated years. Bill proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ethel Witherspoon and husband, Morris; and his father, Willie J. Burten. Survivors: Wife, Audrey Burten of Springtown; daughter, Renee Brzozowski and husband, Robert of Springtown; grandchildren, Georgia Borden and husband,Jamey of Keller, Abbie Paeno and husband, Joseph of Dallas, Sophie Brzozowski and Jacob Brzozowski both of Springtown; great-grandchildren, Connor, William, Audrey and Joseph; and a host of loving family and friends.
