Ray Alton Banks,77, passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2011 in Fort Worth. Funeral Service: 11:00 A.M. Saturday, June 4 at White's Azle Funeral Home. Interment: 1:30 P.M. Saturday at Oaklawn Cemetery in Decatur. Visitation: 6 to 8 P.M. Friday at White's Azle Funeral Home. Memorials: In lieu of flowers the family suggest donations be made in Ray's name to Community Hospice, James L. West, 1111 Summit Ave., Fort Worth, Texas 76104 or The American Cancer Society, 3301 W. Freeway, Fort Worth, TX 76107. Ray was born August 5, 1933. He honorably served his country in the United States Navy. Ray was a member of VFW Post 2137 in Azle and was also a member of the Clown Unit of the Shriners. He was a general contractor for the past 43 years. Ray was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Juanita Banks in 1985; sister, Lou Ella Brewer; and brother, Gene Banks. Survivors: Children, Landon Banks and wife, Nita of Fort Worth, Robert Banks and wife, Rhonda of Springtown and Rhonda Dyer and Marco Cardena of Lipan; grandsons, Randy Lindsey, John Kemp, Moses Kemp, Barry Dyer, Corey Banks, Chad Banks, Colton Banks, and Logan Banks; granddaughters, Lyndsi Rowell and Lauryn Banks; 6 great-grandchildren; brothers, Benny Banks, Dean Banks, and Jerry Banks; sisters, Joyce Slate and Nona Rick; special friend, Sharon Williams; and a host of other family and friends.
