Bill "Pop" Lane, 76, passed away Saturday, May 28, 2011 in Mineral Wells.Memorial Service: 2:00 P.M. Sunday, June 12 at Willow Lake Gardens, 3400 Mineral Wells Highway. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Central United Methodist Church, 1007 S.W. 4th Ave., Mineral Wells, TX 76067 or to the Bill "Pop" Memorial Fund at Mineral Wells Animal Shelter, 101 FM 2256, Mineral Wells, TX 76067.Bill was a longtime resident of Garner. His family was the most important thing in his life. Bill loved to junk hunt, cook and work in his yard. He was an avid Western and Disney movie fan. Bill was preceded in death by his parents.Survivors: wife, Marian Lane of Mineral Wells; sons, Gahn Lane and wife, Onalyce of Frisco, Dr. Kirk Lane and wife, Michelle of WI., and Chance Lane and wife, Lori of Ark.; and their mother, Mona Baker; Jim Martin of Fort Worth, John Martin and wife, Kelly of Garner; daughter, Melissa Steagall of Fort Worth; brother, Abe Lane and wife, Carolyn of Friona; 12 grandchildren; 2 1/2 great-grandchildren; and special friends, Ben Stilley, Scooter and Bagel; also numerous friends and acquaintances.
