Verna Martin Spigler

Verna Martin Spigler, 78, went to be with her Lord Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2010, in Fort Worth.

Graveside service: 11 a.m. Friday in Azleland Memorial Park, 850 N. Cardinal Rd., Azle.

Verna Spigler was born Aug. 28, 1932, in Vernon, daughter of the late Herschel Marlet and Willie Edna Brock Martin. She was the third of four children. Verna had lived in the Azle area 27 years and was a member of Eagle Mountain Baptist Church. She was very active in DAV Women's Auxiliary in Fort Worth. Verna liked to work jigsaw puzzles and work in her yard. She also enjoyed cooking and having friends over.

Verna was preceded in death by her husband, George Spigler in 1990; her parents; and three brothers.

Survivors: Sons, Larry Spigler and wife, Pam, of Azle, Mike Spigler of Grapevine and Doug Spigler and wife, Tonya, of Azle; grandchildren, Brad Spigler and Medea of Azle, Stevie Arledge and Scott of Springtown and Cody Spigler and Amanda of Twentynine Palms, Calif.; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
