Burial: Woodland Park Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials: In lieu of usual remembrances, the Taylor family suggests memorials in Joyce's name to First Baptist Church, 100 Southwest 4th Ave., Mineral Wells, Texas 76067-5261. Joyce Davidson Taylor was born December 23, 1908, to Mattie and Arthur Davidson in Mineral Wells, Texas, where she lived her entire life. After graduating from Adams Business College, she was the bookkeeper for three drug stores. On November 1, 1931, Joyce married Lonnie C. Taylor. They were owners of the Traveler's Cafe, where she typed menus and occasionally cashiered. Most of her time, however, was spent as a homemaker. They had two daughters, Norma Jean and Linda. Then Joyce became an active PTA member and frequent room-mother. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. After Lonnie's death in 1971, Joyce lived alone but was not lonely. She entertained friends in her home and continued to visit them when they had to move to nursing homes. She was a loyal friend. An active member of First Baptist Church, Joyce held the honor of being the oldest member for many years. After her years of service as secretary of the nursery, she was a faithful attendee of her Sunday School class, worship services, and Primetime. The most frequently heard description of her was that she was an inspiration. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie C. Taylor; parents, Arthur and Mattie Davidson; sisters, Gladys Williams, Janice Stubblefield, Jean Scott and Wanda Arthurline Walker. She left behind her loving daughters and spouses: Norma Jean and James B. (Jim) Walker, Linda and Dan Hudkins. Grandchildren: Jimmy and Mary Beth Walker, Steve and Mirna Walker, Bart and Cari Hudkins. Great-grandchildren: Andy and Mary Walker, Cecilia Joyce (Cici) and Logan Fritts, Aaron Walker, Ruby Walker, Jaquelin Torres, Lauren Hudkins, and Grant Hudkins. Great-great granddaughter: Madeleine (Maddy) Fritts. White's Funeral Home Mineral Wells, 940-325-3311
