Ralph Lynn Browning, 70, loving husband, dad, granddad and friend, left this earth to be with his Lord after a brief battle with cancer on April 8, 2010 in Springtown. Funeral Service: 10:00 A.M. Monday, April 12 at White's Funeral Home, Springtown. Interment: Opal Cemetery. Visitation: 3 to 5 P.M. Sunday, April 11 at White's Funeral Home. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church Building Fund or Neighbors to Neighbors in Springtown. or the American Cancer Society. Lynn was born March 27, 1940 in Gorman to Mildred and C. L. Browning. He married his high school sweetheart, Carolyn Gilley, on November 25, 1960. He was a graduate of Texas A&M University and Tarleton State University. Lynn retired after a 32 year career as a teacher and principal from Springtown ISD. He was an avid outdoorsman, loved to hunt, farm and ranch. Lynn's family was his life. he was the most generous and loving man we know. Lynn left a beautiful legacy in his grandchildren. The world was a better place because of him and he will be greatly missed. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Springtown. Lynn was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Donald in 1994; and beloved grandson, Ryan Lowe in 2007. Survivors: wife of 49 1/2 years, Carolyn; son, Tim Browning; daughter, Jamie Lowe and husband, Shane; grandchildren, Maegan, Kayla and Alyssa; brother, Wayne Browning and wife, Lenora; sister, Patricia Peninger; sisters-in-law, Joyce Browning, Norma Dorothy and Sandra Pugh; brother-in-law, Mike Gilley and wife, Linda; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins; and a host of friends and ex-staff at Watson Elementary School in Springtown.
