Virginia Deliliah Thornton

Virginia Thornton, 101, passed away Sunday, April 4, 2010. Funeral: 10 a.m., Wednesday at White's Chapel of Memories. Interment: Poolville Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at White's Funeral Home in Weatherford. Virginia Thornton was born July 1, 1908 the daughter of Colby and Hettie Brown. She was a life time resident of the area. Mrs. Thornton was the oldest surving member of the First Baptist Church of Poolville. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John A. Thornton; brothers, Cecil, Alvis and C.F. Brown; and sister, Estelene Dumis. Survivors: daughters, Joyce Henson and husband, Joe of Madisonville, Ann Thompson and husband, Wayne of Weatherford; grandsons, Jason Thompson and wife, Amy of Georgia, Joseph Henson and wife, Melissa of Arlington; great-grandchildren, Zachary, Ryan and Lauren Thompson, and Holly, Alex, and Courtney Henson; and numerous nieces, nephews and loving friends.
