Robert C. Edgar

Robert C. Edgar, 75, passed away Friday, March 12, 2010 in Fort Worth. A memorial service will be held on Sat. March 20 in Iowa. Robert was born January 2, 1935 in St. Louis County, MO. to Alva Oscar and Edna Free Edgar. He and his wife, Catherine were married April 11, 1983. They had lived in the Azle area since March of 2002; they moved here from Bella Vista, Ark. Robert was a retired Senior Master Sergeant from the United States Air Force. He entered the service in October of 1952 and served until 1979. Robert was employed with the United States Postal Service from 1981 until 1986. He was a lifetime member of the VFW, American Legion, EOD Master Blasters and was a Demit of the Elks. Robert was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, William, John and Jim; sisters, Louise, Cordelia and Daisy; stepson, Lary Schmidt. Survivors: loving wife, Catherine Edgar; sons, Robert D. Edgar and wife, Lisette and Darwin Lynn Edgar; daughter, Sherry Robair and husband, Troy Taylor; stepchildren, Barry Schmidt and wife, Lori of IA. and Douglas Schmidt and wife, Julia of IA.; grandchildren, Brian and Shawn Edgar, Brandon Edgar, Katherine and Brittnay Robair, Cole and wife, Chantel, Clayton, Tucker, Sydney and Toby Schmidt, Kelsey, Hannah and Samantha Schmidt, and Alisa Becker and husband, Rob; great-grandchildren, Braylon and Brooklyn Schmidt, Teagan Curtis Petersen, Sierra, Teagan Grace and Emersen Becker; brothers Joe and wife, Gail of Ill., Elmer Edgar and wife, Carol of FL.; sisters, Dorothy Sanders of MO., Edith Wilson and husband, Leroy of FL.; brother-in-law, Jerry Moore and wife, Sandy of Wis.; exchange students, Johan Selander of Sweden and Hernan Roehner of Uruguay.
