William Leland Hobson

William "Bronco" L. Hobson, 75, passed away Tuesday, March 9, 2010, surrounded by family at his home in Weatherford. Funeral: 10 a.m. Friday in White's Chapel of Memories, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford. Burial: Oakland Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at White's Funeral Home. William Leland Hobson was born Oct. 10, 1934, in Weatherford, son of the late Weldon Burette and Johnie Bess Buckley Hobson. William was a lifetime resident of Weatherford and the owner of Hobson Oil Co. He honorably served his country in the United States Army and was discharged in 1959 at San Antonio. Bill graduated from North Texas State University where he was a member of Theta Chi Fraternity and graduated with a BBA degree. William was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church of Weatherford. William was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors: Son, Andy Hobson, and wife; Tonya; their daughter, Elizabeth Holcomb of Weatherford; daughter, Wendy Barkley and her son Brandon Johnson of Oklahoma City, Okla.; brother, Jack Hobson and wife, Nancy of Fort Worth; their children, Darrell Hobson of Arlington, Martha Hobson of Crowley, and Jackie Rodriguez of Crowley; and a host of loving family and friends.
