James Samuel Collins Jr.

James S. Collins Jr., 57, a longtime resident of Springtown, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2010, surrounded by family at home.

 Funeral: 10 a.m. Friday At White's Funeral Home, 401 North MainStreet, Springtown. 

Interment: Jaybird Cemetery, Jaybird Lane, Springtown. 

Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

 James Samuel Collins Jr. was born May 16, 1952, in Glasgow, Ky, son of James Samuel and Laura Jeanetta Jesse Collins. James was involved in trucking activities and was an owner/operator of his own truck. He also worked as a mechanic for many years. 

James liked to spend his free time outdoors, particularly hunting and fishing. 

Survivors: Son, James S. Collins III and wife, Stacy, of Saginaw; daughter, Kimberly S. Collins of Springtown; grandchildren, Taylor, Dakota, Shelby and Cayden Collins; father, James S. Collins Sr. and wife, Edra "Bobbie Nell", of Kentucky; mother, Laura J. Collins of Weatherford; siblings, Judy L. Snider, Ricky Collins, Kerry Collins, Jeff Collins, Marsha Cook, Sandy Van Arsdale, and Cindy Collins-Dubree; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of loving family and friends.
