PAULINE, SC - Bobby Wayne Bennett of Pauline, SC, formerly of Aledo andWeatherford, TX died on Sunday, October 11 surrounded by family.Bennett was born in Aledo on March 24, 1935 and was the only son ofMarvin and Merle Bennett who preceded him in death. Mr. Bennett had twochildren Doug Bennett and Joy Bennett McFarland both of Pauline, SC. Heis also survived by daughter-in-law Lilly Bennett and son-in-law WalterMcFarland, six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and two sisters,Helen Dill of Weatherford, TX and Judy Campbell of Fort Worth, TX, andnumerous nieces and nephews. Preceding him also is sister Shirley Fyvieof Saginaw, Texas. Known as a welder and master craftsman, upon retirement he began makingmodels of cowboys, steers, and other Western-themed small scalesculptures made of cast off pieces of metal, screws and horseshoe nails.When he moved to South Carolina, he branched out in his art creatingminiature tractors, farm implements, and old cars and trucks. Heentered nine of them in the Union County Farm Show and the PiedmontInterstate Fair and won six blue ribbons. As recently as January, 2009,his work was on display at the Union County, South Carolina Museum.
