Ted Hartness, 69, passed away Thursday, Sept. 24, 2009, while vacationing in Silverton, Colo. Service: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Couts United Methodist Church. Interment: East Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at White's Funeral Home. Ted Hartness was born Oct. 4, 1939, in Weatherford, the son of Carl and Moveline Hartness. He was a member and former elder of Central Christian Church. Ted graduated from Weatherford High School in 1958 and from Texas Christian University in 1962. He was involved in the family printing business his entire life. Ted was very active in many organizations; he was a 40-year member of the Optimist Club, former chamber director, member of the Knights of Pythias and former WISD Education Foundation Board. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Mac Hartness; and granddaughter, Haley Neudorf Hartness. Survivors: His wife, Ruth Ann; children, Ken Hartness and wife, Diane, of Huntsville, Lori Bennett and husband, Dwayne, of Weatherford, Keri Waller and husband, Kevin, of Weatherford; grandchildren, Elaina Hartness, Melissa and Jason Bennett, Jared and Bryce Waller; great-grandson, Cason Bennett; sisters, Lanona Stewart and husband, Dub, of Fort Worth, Sue Casey and husband, David, of Fort Worth; brother-in-law, George Martin and wife, Carolyn, of Weatherford; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
