Mary Alvarine Darden,78, a loving mother, sister and grandmother, passed away Sunday, August 2, 2009 in Garner. 

Service: 2:00 P.M. Thursday, August 6 in White's Mineral Wells Chapel.

 Interment: Elmwood Cemetery. 

Visitation: 6 to 8 P.M. Wednesday at White's Funeral Home.

 Mary was born March 2, 1931 in Garner to Herman R. and Mary Afton Riggs. She was a longtime resident of Mineral Wells.

 Mary was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Wanda Jean Breitfelder; and son, Gary Lynn Griffith.

 Survivors: daughters, Shirley Ann Ponce and husband, Marcell, and Linda Kay Barnard and husband, David; son, Billy Michael Darden and wife, Judy; grandchildren, Butchie Newman, Stacy Brown and husband, James, Mary Kay Bowen and husband, Jimmy, Bryan Darden, Nacole Willis, Drew Darden, Aaron Darden, and Hannah Darden; brother, Jackie Riggs and wife, Carolyne; sister, Sandra Pace and husband, Ronnie; great-grandchildren, Megan Cates, James and Markus Brown, Dylan and Matt Bowen, Drew Newman, J. D. Willis and Murae Horn; and great-great-grandchildren, Kylee Cates and Shawn Brown.
