Billie J. Holmes

Billie J. Holmes,78, passed away Saturday, June 20, 2009 in Fort Worth. Services: 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, June 23 at Azle Christian Church. Interment: Ash Creek Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 9 P.M. Monday, June 22 at White's Azle Funeral Home. Billie was born in Lake Worth and spent her early years there. She had lived in Azle since 1946. Billie retired from the General Services Administration in Fort Worth. She had also worked for several years at the Azle and Fort Worth Post Offices. After retirement she and her husband, Herbert, delivered cars all over the United States for the Tandy Corporation. Travel was one of their favorite activities. Billie also enjoyed research in Geneology. she was preceded in death by her parents, Robert William Floyd and Mary Jewel Todd; daughter-in-law, Janie Wiley Holmes and great-grandchild, Charles Zion Greathouse IV. survivors: husband, John Herbert Holmes; daughters, Betty McNeill and husband, Charles, and Gloria J. Solis and husband, Michael; son, John Wayne Holmes; brother, John William Floyd and wife, Anne; sister, Juanita McCurdy; aunt, Kitty Perez; brother-in-laws, Marshall Holmes and wife, Vonnie, William Holmes and wife, Darlene; sister-in-law, Darlene Holmes; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; many newphews, nieces, cousins and friends.
