Hugh Porter Barry

WEATHERFORD -- Hugh P. Barry Sr., 84, a wonderful father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away Wednesday June 10, 2009. Services: 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Stephen's Catholic Church. Interment: Memory Gardens of the Valley. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at White's Weatherford Funeral Home. Hugh Barry Sr. was born Nov. 6, 1924, in Beaumont, to Ray and Lynn Barry. He had been a resident of Weatherford for 23 years. Hugh was married to the former Ozie Sims for 55 years. He was employed by Gulf Pipeline Company and Chevron Pipeline for more than 45 years and was a member of the Chevron Retirees Club. Hugh enjoyed his large family, numerous close friends, cowboy coffee and storytelling. Hugh was preceded in death by his wife, Ozie, in 2000; son, James Anthony Barry, in 1970; his parents; and brother, Raymond Barry. Survivors: Sons, Hugh Barry Jr. and wife, Linda, of Colorado, Robert Barry and wife, Linna, of Oklahoma City, Okla., Richard Barry and wife, Chris, of Sugar Land, Steve Barry and wife, Robin, of Corinth; daughter, Rita Sharp and husband, Barry, of Houston; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of loving family.
