Earl Minyard, 71 passed away on Monday, May 4, 2009. Services: 2:00 p.m., Friday at White's Chapel of Memories, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday at White's Funeral Home. Interment: East Greenwood Cemetery. Reverend Harold Braddock will officiate funeral services for Mr. Minyard. Serving as pallbearers: Leo Talavera, Johnny Husky, Robert Reed, Lyle Arnett, Larry Wiggins, and Greg Thompson. Earl Minyard was born November 28, 1937 in Shawnee, Okla. He graduated from Weatherford High School and attended TCU. Most recently Earl was a nominee for induction to Weatherford High School Alumni Athletic Hall of Fame, class of 1954. Earl's father, Jake Minyard was owner of Rivers Construction Pipeline Co. His influence was the beginning of Earl's career in the pipeline industry as early as 1953. He was a superintendent, chief inspector, and construction manager for contractors international and domestic such as: Murphy Brothers, Universal, Wellsco, Price, and Morrison Knudsen. This position in the pipeline industry involved working internationally in Brazil, Bolivia, Saudi Arabia, and Alaska. He was chief inspector or construction manager for some of the largest pipelines in the U.S. Earl was inducted into the National Pipeliner's Hall of Fame March 2, 2008. He resided in Uvalde since 1993. Earl is preceded in death by DeEtta and Jake Minyard. Survivors include, daughters, Jennifer Bell of Euless, and Joanie Shabay and husband, Pete of Weatherford.
