Steven Davis, 54, a loving husband, father, brother and friend, passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2009. Funeral: 11 a.m. Friday in White's Funeral Home Chapel, 401 N. Main St., Springtown. Interment: Goshen Cemetery. Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at White's Funeral Home. Steve was a tall, strong, but gentle man. He was born in Fort Worth and raised his family in Springtown. Steve enjoyed working with his dad and learning how to be a mechanic and build things. He attended Jarvis Heights Church of Christ and still had his Christian family there. At Paschal High School in Fort Worth, he was a top athlete, playing football and track. He received offers to play football at TCU and even Notre Dame. Steve was a concrete contractor by trade and he worked at various projects throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area. He enjoyed restoring old John Deere tractors and even participated in tractor pulls, where he won several awards. Steve was a man who never met a stranger and had a great sense of humor. He loved his family and his many close friends. He always took great care to make sure that his parents, wife and children were taken care of. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter E. and Mae England Davis. Survivors: Wife, Becky Davis, of Springtown; son, Trey Davis of Springtown; daughter, Courtney Davis and fiance, Chaise Cooper, of Springtown; brother, Wayland Davis and wife, Teresa, of Azle; sister, Sarah Davis Packard and husband, Duan, of Sherman; and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and acquaintances.
