Marjorie Ray, 87, of Waco and formerly of Poolville, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 29, 2009, at a Waco hospital. Funeral: 10 a.m. Wednesday at Poolville United Methodist Church, 230 S. Church St., Poolville. The Rev. Dave Goodrich will officiate. Interment: Poolville Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at White's Funeral Home, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford. Pallbearers will be her grandsons. Marjorie was born Feb. 22, 1922, in Fort Worth to Landy and Bertha Martin Freiley. She married Levon L. Ray on Aug. 6, 1943, in Springtown. They lived most of their married life in Lubbock. She was a wonderful loving wife and mother of two sons, Mickey Ray of College Station and Tom Ray of Waco. Marjorie loved the Lord and was a devoted, longtime member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Lubbock. After more than 45 years in Lubbock, she and Levon moved back to the family farm in Poolville, where they were active members of Poolville United Methodist Church. In 2008, they moved to Waco to be near family. Marjorie was preceded in death by five brothers and one brother-in-law. Survivors: Husband of 65 years, Levon L. Ray; sons, Mickey Ray of College Station and Tom Ray and wife, Sandy, of Waco; grandchildren, Cari Tasin and husband, Trevor, of Las Vegas, Nev., Christi Ray and Gary Hogg of Corpus Christi, Brandon Ray of Waco, Kyle Ray and wife, Bonnie, of Waco, Kelly Cobb and husband, Chris, of Benbrook, Allison Farrar and husband, Pat, of Waco and Larren Silver and wife, Kera, of Waco; and 17 great-grandchildren.
