Kenneth Ray Dowis, 51, peacefully passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2009, surrounded by family at his home in Azle. Graveside service: 10 a.m. Saturday in Azleland Memorial Park, 850 N. Cardinal Rd., Azle. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at White's Funeral Home, 105 Denver Trail, Azle. Kenneth Ray Dowis, ninth of ten children, was born Sept. 14, 1957, in Lake Worth, son of John Thomas and Mattie Lee Barnes Dowis. He had a heart of gold, never said no, was a very loving and caring person, who never expected anything in return. He loved to hunt and fish. Kenneth was baptized in the Baptist Church. He was a self-employed remodeler. Kenneth was loved dearly by his nieces and nephews. He had lived in the Azle area most of his life. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Linda Kendrick, Mary Dilldine, and Charlotte Nansteal. Survivors: daughter, Crystal Alexander of River Oaks; brothers, Chloe Dowis and wife, Juanita of River Oaks, Douglas Dowis of Azle and Johnny Dowis of Fort Worth; sisters, Karen Welch and husband, Johnny of Springtown, Bettie Sallee and husband, Roy of Lakeside, Sandra Windham and husband, Rick of Fort Worth; 18 nieces and nephews and numerous great-nieces and nephews.
