Frances Norman "Granny Fran" Cox peacefully joined her beloved husband onWednesday, Feb. 25, 2009 surrounded by her family. Funeral: A memorial service in Fran's memory will be held at 11:00a.m., Saturday, Feb. 28 at White's Funeral Home in Mineral Wellsofficiated by Rev. Holmes. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m.,Friday at the funeral home. Memorial: Her memory may be honored with a gift to a charity ofchoice. Fran was born March 26, 1925 to Jim Lee Norman and Bernice Normanin Weatherford. She graduated from Weatherford High School andattended business school at Weatherford College. Fran married JesseOber Cox in Norfolk, VA where he was stationed in the Navy. They later moved to Odessa and in 1959 they moved to Mineral Wells.Fran and J.O. worked together in health care enterprises until hisdeath in 1981. Fran loved geneology, reading and was a master atcrossword puzzles. She was happiest when she was preparing holidayfeasts and baking her famous "buttermilk pie" for family andfriends. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, andgreat-grandmother, Fran was the pillar of her family. Survivors: She is survived by her daughters, Susanne Cox, CarolynSmith and husband, Allan all of Mineral Wells, and Phyllis Frankand husband, Jim of Ft. Worth; grandchildren, Jeff Roe of MineralWells, Tracy Poynor and husband, Brad of Ft. Worth, Dustin Smithand wife, Lindy of Granbury, Jett Smith of San Antonio, Jacye Smithof Mineral Wells; and numerous great-grandchildren.
