Thurman T. Grubis

AZLE -- Thurman Grubis, 90, a retired Assistant Foreman from Bell Helicopter, passed away Tuesday February 10, 2009 at home in Azle. Graveside Service: 10:00 a.m. Friday in Veal Station Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 P.M. Thursday at White's Funeral Home. Thurman was born August 4, 1918 in Savanna, Oklahoma to Lewis and Maggie Grubis. He attended North Side High School. Thurman was preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years, Earlene Grubis. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the Alzheimer's Association. The family would like to give special thanks to his dedicated caregivers, Gail Moore, Gordon Kutej and Billy Kutej, without whom he would have not been able to stay in his home. Special thanks also to Covenant Hospice. Survivors: Children, Diane Eskue and husband John, Jerry Grubis and wife, Deana of Springtown; grandchildren, Toby Grubis, Jay Grubis of Springtown and Christopher Eskue of Cincinnati, Ohio; 6 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great- grandchild.
