Weldon C. Jordan, 95, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2008 atHolland Lake nursing home after a brief illness. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 9th atFirst Baptist Church of Weatherford. Interment will follow at EastGreenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.,Wednesday, Oct. 8th at White's Funeral Home. Pallbearers: Grandsons and great-grandsons. Honorary Pallbearers:Past and present members of the Big Top Hunting Club along withSheriffs Posse Members. Weldon was born January 12, 1913 in West Parker County, nearHolders Chapel, to Clarence E. and Lela Goodson Jordan. Hegraduated Valedictorian from Millsap High School. Weldon marriedViva Roquemore in 1934. Viva passed away at an early age in 1957.Weldon later met and married Margaret Hadsell, his loving wife offifty years. Weldon founded Jordan Construction Company in 1933 and remainedactive in the business all his life. Together with his son Bill,and his grandson Judd, they built a successful business. Active in ranching, Weldon received a soil conservation award of"Come Back Farmer of the Year" in 1967, covering six counties inthe upper West Fork District. He was a proud member of the SheriffsPosse for 60 years, and was one of the founding members of the BigTop Hunting Club in 1947. Weldon was a life long member of theFirst Baptist Church of Weatherford, and attended the First UnitedMethodist Church of Weatherford with his wife, Margaret. He waspreceded in death by his parents; two brothers, and three sisters. He is survived by his devoted wife, Margaret Jordan; sons, BillJordan and wife, Nancy of Weatherford, David Adams and wife,Frances of Tyler; grandchildren, Judy Giles and husband, Randy ofWeatherford, Judd Jordan of Weatherford, Jeannie Dietschy andhusband, Dan of Grapevine, Patrick Adams of College Station;great-grandchildren, Jordan and Jason Bishop, Judson and JacobJordan; Sara and John Dietschy; and several nieces and nephews.
