Louis "Parnell" King (aka Joe King) 87, went to be with his heavenly Father on Thursday, September 25, 2008 in Weatherford, TX. He was born on June 16, 1921 in El Dorado, Union County, Arkansas to Louis Campbell and Bertha Parnell King. He ran his own aircraft radio business at Andrau Airpark in Houston, TX for over 40 years and was also employed with Gulf Publishing Company as co-pilot and mechanic for the company plane. Being an only child, he loved family togetherness more than anything. Though very private with his faith in God, he loved his heavenly Father. In addition to his love of aviation, he loved people. He was very gifted at assessing mechanical and electrical problems and finding quick, creative ways to solve them. He was very gifted with his hands and could fix anything. He loved gardening so much that he was known to have cared for his vegetables like a mother with a newborn baby. Music was a big part of his life â?? playing tenor sax in high school and continually tinkering on the piano throughout his life. He was often found whistling a tune while busy at work. He was known to be quite stubborn, but truth be known, he would cry at the drop of a hat â?? a sensitive man he was.Surviving Louis (Joe) is his wife of 55 years, Monica Klammer King of Weatherford; sons, Martin King and wife, Karen of Weatherford, Richard King and wife, Terri of Houston; daughter, Peggy Hastings and husband, Mark of Weatherford; and eight grandchildren, Bethany, Gretchen Bingaman and husband, Zack, Laura and Kimberly Hastings, Sarah and Will King, and Ryan and Taylor King."God does not deduct from man's allotted time the hours spent while flying"Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church Organ Fund, Trinity Lutheran Church, 1500 W.
