Effie Irene Teague

Effie Irene Teague,96, passed away Tuesday, September 23, 2008 in Azle. Graveside Service: 2:00 P.M. Friday in Duncan Cemetery, Duncan, Oklahoma. Effie Irene Bennett Teague was born July 7, 1912 in Hugo, Oklahoma, to Wesely and Maude Carter Bennett. She grew up and attended school in Duncan, Oklahoma. In 1931, Effie was married to Cecil W. Teague of Duncan. They moved to Azle in 1953. She was a member of the River Oaks Nazarene Church. Effie enjoyed cooking, sewing, reading and gardening. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. Effie was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Teague in 2002 and by six brothers and two sisters. Survivors include her children, Gale Teague and wife, Helen of Fort Worth, Peggy Logan of Weatherford, Kitty Ivey and husband, James of Azle and Camilla Spruill of Azle; sisters, Malora Martin of Azle and Estelle Billingsley and husband, Elvert of Okanagan, Wash.; brothers, Virgil Bennett of Azle, and Wesley Bennett and wife, Joyce of Los Cruces, N.M.; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
