Lou Kelly passed away August 9, 2008, at the age of 94, in Sherman, Texas. She was born in Decatur, Texas, October 4, 1913, the daughter of W.A. Woody, Sr. and Minnie Isbell Woody. Lou was a long time resident of Weatherford, Texas, where she graduated from high school in 1931 and then attended Weatherford College. She served as Church Secretary for the First United Methodist Church in Weatherford for 30 years until her retirement. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Jenny Perry, two brothers and four sisters. She is survived by two daughters, Rena Hudspeth and husband, Tommy, of Sherman, and Mayland Caldwell of Fort Worth, 7 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 2 great, great grandchildren. Lou enjoyed life to the fullest. She spent many years volunteering with Manna, Meals On Wheels, and visiting shut ins. She loved her church groups, gardening, bridge, sports, traveling, and always being with people. She spent her later years watching her great grandchildren in their activities. The family would like to express special thanks to the "Super Seniors" of Grace United Methodist Church for the friendship, care, and concern shown to Lou this past year while living in Sherman.
