At age of 90, Marguerite, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother went home peacefully to her Lord and Savior, Jesus on Sunday, February 24, 2008.
Funeral Service: 10:00 A.M. Thursday, at First Baptist Church of Castle Hills, Azle.
Burial: Azleland Cemetery
Visitation: 6 to 8 P.M. Wednesday at White's Azle Funeral Home.
Marguerite was born in Dubach, LA. to Henry T. and Sarah Elizabeth Newton. Marguerite was talented in music and poetry, having played piano for Baptists churches all of her adult life. She wrote hundreds of non-published poems about her Lord that blessed many. Marguerite was also a Sunday School Teacher and WMU Leader. In declining health she was faithfully attended by her husband.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Rev. Richard O. Sullivan and U. J. Mauldin; daughter, Ruth Elizabeth Edmondson, brother, H. Tolbert Newton, Jr.
Survivors: husband, Alton Mauldin; sons, T.O. "Bud" Sullivan and John R. Sullivan; daughter, Sarah Sue Burnett; sisters, Melba Jackson, Jeanne Emerson, Jan Buckalew; 16 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; and was also survived by step-daughter, Kay Brashears.
