Bill Auvenshine passed away at home Wednesday, February 20, 2008 with his family at his side. Graveside service: 2:00 P.M. Friday at Veal Station Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 P.M. Thursday at White's Funeral Home, which he helped build. Bill, 91 1/2 years young, was a home builder in Azle and Springtown for several years. He built a home that his friends were proud of. Bill loved to go fishing and deer hunting in Texas and Colorado. He also loved to go to Bluegrass Festivals, especially Salmon Lake Park in Grapeland where he cooked pinto beans for the pot luck suppers. Bill also enjoyed going to Melody Mountain in Stephenville where he barbqued briskets for the crowd. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Pearl Auvenshine, sister, Juanita Auvenshine and 4 grandsons. Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Billie Auvenshine; daughter, Carolyn Davis and husband, Art of Rhome; sons, David Auvenshine and wife, Sharon of Azle, Dan Auvenshine and wife, Gloria of Azle, Duane Auvenshine; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren and many extended family members and friends.
