Ray joined the Marines in 1941 serving in the Pacific. Jessie was discharged from the Marine Corps in 1944. He worked at Convair, now Lockheed, in Fort Worth. He was the kind of person who would try to fix or build anything, which always resulted in perfection. He and Adelaide "Addie" were married July 27, 1947, and lived in Fort Worth. In May 1952, they moved to Azle, where Ray was a volunteer on the Azle Fire Department, a big fisherman and a Mason. He received his 40-year pin from the lodge in 2007. Ray was loved by so many and will be greatly missed as a good friend and a great storyteller. The family wishes to thank Dr. Morrison, David and the office help and all the nurses and staff of the hospital. Ray was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Opal; and brothers, Archie, Ed and Joe.
