Thomas Walter Turner

Thomas Walter Turner, 88, passed away peacefully January 6, 2008 at his home in Springtown, Texas. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday in White's Springtown Chapel. Burial: Greenwood Cemetery in Fort Worth. The family will receive friends on Monday from 6 to 8 P.M. at White's Funeral Home. Tom was born November 26, 1919 in Waxahachie to Ocie Milton Turner and Victoria Cain Turner. He joined the United States Air Force in 1943. After World War II, Tom served in the Merchant Marine. He worked for General Dynamics in Fort Worth, Texas, retiring February 27, 1975 after many years working as a Flight Line Field Service Mechanic. The Turner family lived in Fort Worth and moved to Springtown in 1980. He was a member of Springtown First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Maxine Inez Turner. They shared many joyful years until her death in 1992. He is survived by his four daughters, Pamela Gail Minze, Vicki Sue Harms, Carla June Hunt and husband, Don, and Patty Jane Philpot; he is also survived by his six grandchildren, Tommy Minze, Becky Brawner and husband, Rusty, Angie Nix, Dusty Harms, Tiffany Harms and Landry Philpot, and two great-grandchildren, Ashley Minze and Alyssa Brawner.
